Derrick Robinson

Founder and President

Following the events of George Floyd’s murder, Derrick Robinson felt a responsibility to use his access to the media to lend a hand to non-profits and local activists fighting for systemic change. What started as a passion project became PAX consulting. 

Derrick is a communications professional with more than a decade of experience working for government agencies, nonprofits, political candidates, technology startups, Hollywood executives, and businesses to establish and enhance their media and influencer relations, social media, and marketing reach.

Derrick began his career in Democratic politics, starting at the Democratic National Committee, then working in the White House Office of Communications as a researcher, fact-checker, and press strategist. During this period, he also served on President Obama’s successful 2012 Presidential campaign. He later was a lead spokesperson at the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration. After his time in the Obama administration, Derrick led communications for a Los Angeles Member of Congress, then led communications for the Lawyers committee for Civil Rights Under Law. 

Since founding PAX he has led communications for Public Citizen, Color of Change, DreamCorps, The Faith And Politics Institute, Native American Nations, The Ethiopian Federal Government, The McArthur Foundation, Lauren Underwood for Congress, and more.

 

Danny Simons

Lead Public Affairs, Crisis and Advocacy Advisor

Danny Simons is a seasoned integrated public affairs and advocacy professional that simplifies the complex, fixes the controversial and influences stakeholders, regulators, media and the public to help clients win.  Danny brings unmatched experience developing highly integrated social, earned, owned and paid public affairs and communications campaigns that raise the bar and enhance outcomes well beyond that of more traditional campaign efforts.

Danny is dedicated to leading and supporting clients through the evolving communications landscape, leveraging both digital and traditional strategies, coupled with utilizing the tools and technologies associated with modern integrated campaigns.

Estefania Luna Hernandez

Managing DirectoR

At PAX, Estefania leads the execution of strategic social media campaigns for our non-profit, social advocacy clients, and corporate clients.Prior to joining the firm, Estefania was an immigration case manager and social worker for a large non-profit that advocates for unaccompanied minors coming across the US border. She used her deep knowledge of the US post-release program and federal law to connect minors with resources and reunify families. 

Shelley Levin

Lead Media Engagement Advisor

Shelly Levin is the founder of Gatheround Group and a communications specialist with more than 17 years of experience working in public relations, branding and digital marketing. With a focus on the built environment, Levin specializes in large-scale commercial real estate, interior design and architecture, technology and DEI initiatives. Prior to starting her own consultancy, Levin served as vice president at Allison+Partners, as well as the global director of public relations at  (Hirsch Bedner Associates) HBA, the world’s leading hospitality design firm, where she worked internationally for more than a decade. In 2018, Levin was named one of PRWeek’s Hall of Femme recipients. 

 

michelle pinedo

Chief Financial officer & Vice President of diversity, equity and inclusion

Michelle Pinedo has over 20 years of executive-level experience in leading non-profit organizations to new degrees of efficiency and impact. In addition to her role as CFO, Michelle oversees PAX Consulting’s client diversity, equity, and inclusion standards, collaborating with clients to advise on DEI programs – with a focus on development, performance, and retention. 

Before joining PAX, Michelle worked at Episcopal Relief & Development. This global relief organization works with Anglican and ecumenical partners to find solutions to hunger, poverty, disasters, and disease. During her tenure, she created and implemented an organization-wide Diversity & Inclusion program, led a web transformation project, implemented a performance management strategy that furthered professional development amongst staff, and optimized organizational cash flow and forecasting.

Prior to her work with Episcopal Relief & Development, Michelle held the most senior finance position with Amref Health Africa, a Nairobi, Kenya-based organization that provides health services and health worker training to over 30 African countries. A graduate of the City University of New York, she holds a BA in business from the CUNY School of Professional Studies and a Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University.

Currently, she serves on the board of #MEAction, an international advocacy organization, as their Treasurer, and is a past board member of the City University of New York, School of Professional Studies Foundation.

Natalia Garzon

Lead Communications Advisor

Natalia Garzon is a results-driven communications leader who thrives on creating and disseminating transformative narratives to help advance racial justice, reproductive rights, and other social issues. Natalia served as Director of Media Relations at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (LDF), where she created and led communications efforts for the Education and Economic Justice portfolios, amplifying cases related to race-conscious admissions to fair housing and workplace discrimination issues. Throughout her 17+ year career, she has worked with corporations, foundations, national nonprofits, and thought leaders to develop dynamic strategies that not only reach but engage and activate diverse audiences to create change. Natalia received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Tufts University and is fluent in Spanish.

Derwayne henry

creative director & head of digital marketing

DerWayne Henry is a strategic planning and marketing technology (SaaS) expert with ten years of advanced experience in project/program management, content development, digital and UX strategy, and product implementation. 

He has an impeccable track record of successfully launching senior-level projects and cross-functionally leading UX-oriented project teams (ex. data, digital, creative) that have resulted in a positive increase in key performance indicators (KPIs) as well as continued success in achieving client marketing objectives and strategic goals. Not only does he know how to design and implement effective digital strategy plans, but he also has exceptional knowledge and expertise of today’s SaaS (MarTech) products and B2B/B2C (Salesforce/Pardot) software, where he has successfully led the development of user-friendly digital assets and creative resources for program and product launches. He has a decade of management experience, having led creative operations and UX/CX teams.

Jackie Nedell

Director Of Media Relations

Jackie is a Director at PAX, where she helps develop and drive crisis communications, media training, and public affairs strategies for the firm’s political, corporate, and non-profit clients. Jackie is a senior communications executive who has worked as a reporter/anchor in national and local television news and held senior positions in public relations and the federal government, working in the Clinton Administration and various top public relations firms. Jackie’s extensive television news experience means her clients get real world experience in her media and presentation training and learn how to create compelling messages that cut through the media clutter.
